Boost Your Income Through Product Sales

These are the notes from Ron Ellis' presentation, “Boost Your Income Through Product Sales,” last Monday at the Sharpener’s Jam in Duluth, GA.

Ron sold 700 Babyliss Nano Titanium Irons since October. Some are through package deals.

Example of how package deals work:
$200.00 retail shear costs $100.00 wholesale. With the additional 25% off when buying in quantities the cost is now $75.00

Take the $25.00 extra profit and use it toward the Babyliss clipper and trimmer deal for $33.00. You’ve spent $8.00 difference over the regular wholesale to include these two items free with shears to make the sale. Or give away only the clipper and sell the trimmer separate.

So you have traded $8.00 to make a $200.00 sale. You made $92.00 instead of $100.00 profit, but you may not have made the sale without this.

Babyliss 45% markup
Babyliss is the professional line of Conair.
Don’t sell more than recommended price or you will blow your credibility because they will see the flyer from the beauty supply. Babyliss has the best warranty in the industry. Chi has had the reputation and the popularity in flat irons, but their warranty is only 1 year.

Conair deals change every two month
Sell a shear and include a flatiron it costs you $16.50

We have to compete with the Joewell and Centrix sold through the beauty supply. You MUST have an edge over them. If you can include a product with your shear sale you stand out. If you take your 25% Bonika discount you have money to buy a product to go with the shear you sell.

Today to be a Conair - Babyliss distributor it takes a $50,000 opening order and $15,000 per year … unless you buy through Bonika. Buying through Bonika is the same price as buying direct from Conair but without the high minimums.

Other tips:
Work Saturdays because shops paid on Friday and the money may be gone on Tuesday. Ron aims for $300.00 - $500.00 profit per day.
