People Read my Blog!!

I found out by an early morning message on my answer machine that people really do read my blog ... or at least talk to people who read my blog.

I had a call from Russell Chew from the Chew Multicultural Hair Show. He was upset because of all the negative things I had on my "website" about the show and about the food. I had two messages with him very upset. Well, based on what he was TOLD and not on what he had READ, he had every right to be upset. I don't blame him. He accused us of being racist, which, if what he was told was true, we would be. But he was told lies. After the message he left for me, he heard from others that his facts were wrong. We talked this morning and I read him verbatim what the websites said and what this blog said and he agreed there was absolutely nothing that was offensive to him. He was apologetic for his outburst and it is understandable with all the pressure from the hurricanes and such that they have had in the area. I urge you to attend his shows if you are a stylist in the area and support those who are working hard and spending their own money to bring quality education to Louisiana. As I said in the previous blog about the Chews show, this whole region of Louisiana is the nicest most polite people I have been around and no area of the country has better food.

The moral to this story is if someone tells you something bad about another person check your facts and confront the person who offended you. I am so glad Russell Chew called me, even though his phone message did upset me for a while. I am so glad I called him back and the air is totally cleared between us. I don't know who lied about me to him, but I can tell you he will never trust what that person tells him in the same way he did before.

My attitude toward those who try to back stab me. I often feel like there's a target on my back. But I can't let that worry me or change the way we conduct our business. Our business mission statement is still to treat others in business (customers, vendors, show management, stylists, etc)like we would like to be treated. We will continue to strive for that goal.
