Here's an update on the Texas Sharp and Shop. A total of eleven attended the open house Sharp and Shop although they were never all there at the same time. This gave everyone a chance to ask the questions they needed to ask, shop without a crowd and pick out that special bumper or finger rest or shear they had been looking for. Everyone learned some new information including me. Rick Anderson who curiously never appeared in any of my photos and never took off his sunglasses taught me a couple of things. My favorite was saving my bumper tails. So many bumpers have a two tier width instead of a taper. Then trimmed inside the finger hole the left over tail can be reused on those scissors that have an extra small bumper hole. Alton Finney told me my shoes were too small and taught me a few things that if I take to heart my make me as healthy and energetic as he when I am his age.
We may make this an annual event and see how it grows. Most likely the day of the week will change to a week day rather than a Saturday.Link to photos from the Texsas Sharp and Shop
how do i find out where the upcoming shows where bonika sharpeners will be? I am in the dallas area.
ReplyDeletethanks!
We will be sending emails to let people know about all the sharpener meetings. We also list them on our website. We plan on having one in Dallas next fall but it is based on when we attend another function. We will be driving through Dallas the third week of January if you wanted to meet with just me and Gene. We didn't plan anything formally for those dates because it is so last minute. Let me know if you would like to get together.
ReplyDeleteBe sure and sign up for our email list.
I am an old friend of Alton Finney. I found his picture on your website. Would you please tell him that Pam and Henry Fahey would absolutely LOVE to hear from him? He can email us at pamelafahey@yahoo.com or call me at (405) 286-9488. We used to live in Grapevine and he cut the entire family's hair. We truly miss him now that we are "north of the river" in Oklahoma City! Thank you in advance.
