I was reminded twice this week why I am in business and why we continue to do what we do here at Bonika Shears. Believe me, it isn't the money! LOL. Our sharpeners who use our equipment and sell our shears are for the most part much more affluent than our little family. If I had stayed in teaching and Gene with corporate America, we would have had more things.
Several years back, Gene and I befriended a young single mom in Las Vegas when we were at a show. She came back to Atlanta, possibly to work. It didn't work out, and she went back to Vegas where she was a dancer and we never heard from her again. I never forgot her. I kept her on my prayer list, as I a have many of you who are reading this.
I was cleaning out my Facebook spam messages, most from Pakistani surgical suppliers wanting me to buy something from them and I came across this message..

Dear Bonnie,
I hope you remember who I am, as you and your husbands Christian kindness has stuck with me over the years. I helped throw the first Viva Las Vegas Intl' Beauty show, then later flew out from Las Vegas to work for you at the Bronner Brother's show. When I seen you have a facebook page I was so excited, I had to reach out immediately. I want to thank you for your kindness during those times.. I was young and impressionable, and your light played a big role in my life then and now. I am back living in XXXXXXX now and my little daughter just left for XXX, can you believe it? I hope all is well and to hear back from you soon. So much time has passed, I am a music publicist and radio host now, life never has a dull moment
In God's love, Always, XXXXXX
What a blessing to hear back how we have made a difference even when we think we had no impact.
Also, I had a another experience where I was able to share my heart about a year and a half ago when I was interviewed at the New York Show about our company. I really shared my hear about the impact Christ had made on my life and how we know as a family we are in God's purpose. All that was edited out (see the video below) but the message on Facebook reminds me that God's word does not go out void. Sometime in this life or the next, I will learn that what I had to say impacted either the interviewer or the editor of the film.
Remember your purpose. Know who you work for. That's a reminder for me as well as you.
