Do you know how good you are? Probably not!

In 1999, David Dunning and Justin Kruger at Cornell University found that in a series of studies that people with true ability and skills tend to underestimate their ability and those grossly incompetent tend to overestimate their own level of skill and fail to recognize genuine skill in others. However, with only a minimal tutoring in skills people can improve their ability to recognize their own level of ability even if their skills don’t improve.

This means is that it is unlikely that you actually know your true ability. This makes one ponder.

That is the main purpose behind sharpening certification, styling contests and continuing training in whatever your field is.
