The beauty business may be slower, but the cosmetology schools are are going well and strong. We were just at the ProWay School in Stone Mountain. See photos from the ProWay School. Director Gail Davis put together a great contest for her students with a super combo of prizes for the students who brought in the most clients in October. Danasia Muhummad won first place and LaShonda Thompson was second place.
Heard from a sharpener Friday as we were leaving that he had the possibility of an order of 1000 shears for a major school. He had dropped off our Bonika Jazzy two years ago. Little did he know they had been test marketing that shear against several others and the Jazzy won out. It didn't surprise me because this shear was designed by the owner of 18 beauty schools located around the country. The Jazzy is the ultimate cosmetology school shear.

Student Competitions in Fort Worth, TX
We attended the student educational forum and competitions at the Will Rodgers Memorial Center Fort Worth October 26-27th. These students do the most amazing work. Take a look at some of their work. Click to see their work.To name drop, we ate with hair artist Ron Barnes.
Also sitting at our table was the 2008 US Gold Medalist from the Hair Olympics, Delano Dees and the US Team make-up artist Gilbert Dove.
Madrid did his usual performance at the forum.
Sheila Tate joined us from Atlanta and taught a class for all the students and teachers. Jerry and Jessica along with their staff put on a tremendous show. The students who attend their schools are very lucky. Not only do they have the best shears in their kit, the Bonika Jazzy, but they have some of the most caring teachers we have ever come across as well as a "commitment to excellence."
