Tomorrow we leave for our "Southwest Tour" as the office calls it. I am so happy that we have such a capable crew to run things while we are gone. I'll update our blog on our 3 week trip but it includes numerous classes at schools in 3 states, a hair show in California, a Sharp N Shop and at least one sharpening training, maybe two. There will be 2 days of R&R on the 3 week trip with a visit to Carlsbad Caverns. I am dying to watch the 800,000 bats steaming back home in the evening. We have to nights booked at the hotel nearest the caverns so maybe I will see it twice. After the pigeon adventure in Puerto Rico I am ready for the bats.
Am I afraid of the bats? No I am more concerned that my voice will not hold out. I've been fighting laryngitis for two weeks now. I am concerned that my thumbs hold out. I will be sharpening at the show and at all the schools and my arthritis can really weaken my hands. I am also concerned about by feet. My plantar fasicitis has disappeared with the shoe insets I ordered off the Internet, but I have been resting my feet a lot for the past three months.
Mystie likes to tease us and say that Brooke will learn to walk while we are away and tells us how much we will miss our grandbabies. I think that concerns me most of all.
But overriding my concerns is the strong wander lust that makes me ready to hit the road again, just Gene and me. I never get tired of his company and I never get tired of visiting new places with him.
